A charming and popular village in the Vallée d'Aulps thanks to its good exposure and proximity to the ski resorts, Le Biot lies between Thonon les Bains and Morzine, more precisely between La Baume and St Jean d'Aulps. The heart of the hamlet has a bar/restaurant, bakery, cheese shop, hairdresser and primary school. Other shops can be found in St Jean d'Aulps, just 3 minutes away by car.

In winter, the nearest ski slopes are those of St Jean d'Aulps (Roc d'Enfer), just a few minutes' drive away, or those of the Morzine-Les Gets-Avoriaz ski area, accessible from Morzine. These resorts are all part of the Portes du Soleil ski area (650km of runs), which also extends into Switzerland.

In summer, the village offers a wide range of hiking opportunities.
